LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Tumor-Node-Metastasis Staging of Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

After completing this activity, the learner should be able to:

•  Describe the tumor (T), node (N), and metastasis (M) categories of the American Joint Commission on Cancer (AJCC) pancreatic cancer staging system.
•  Discuss the use of the AJCC pancreatic cancer staging system in guiding clinical decisions.
•  Describe some prognostic factors used in clinical practice but not currently a part of the AJCC pancreatic cancer staging system.

The ACS designates this educational activity for a maximum of one AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity is approved for 1 AAFP Prescribed credit. Credit may be claimed for 2 years from the date of this issue. The physician should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spent in the educational activity. The online quiz must be completed by March 1, 2010.
