LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Utilizing the Tumor-Node-Metastasis Staging for Prostate Cancer: The Sixth Edition, 2002
After completing this activity, the learner should be able to:
• Describe the tumor (T), lymph node (N), and metastasis (M) categories of the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) prostate cancer staging system.
• Discuss limitations and uncertainties of the current AJCC prostate cancer staging system.
• Describe some prognostic factors used in clinical practice, but not currently a part of the current AJCC prostate cancer staging system.
The ACS designates this educational activity for a maximum of one AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity is approved for 1 AAFP Prescribed credit. Credit may be claimed for 2 years from the date of this issue. The physician should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spent in the educational activity. The online quiz must be completed by January 1, 2010.
