LEARNING OBJECTIVES: American Cancer Society Guidelines for Breast Screening with MRI as an Adjunct to Mammography

After completing this activity, the learner should be able to:

•  Identify categories of women at increased (~20–25% or greater) lifetime risk of breast cancer.
•  Identify patients with indications (according to this guideline) for breast MRI screening as an adjunct to mammography.
•  Discuss strengths and limitations in the current evidence regarding breast MRI screening as an adjunct to mammography.

The ACS designates this educational activity for a maximum of one category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.

This activity is approved for 1 AAFP Prescribed credit. Credit may be claimed for 1 year from the date of this issue. The physician should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spent in the educational activity. The online quiz must be completed by March 1, 2008.
