OBJECTIVES After reading the article Guidelines for Colonoscopy Surveillance after Polypectomy: A Consensus Update by the US Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer and the American Cancer Society, the learner should be able to:
Select appropriate follow-up surveillance intervals for surveillance colonoscopy in patients with colon and rectal polyps.
Discuss the evidence supporting these guidelines.
Discuss unresolved issues in postcancer surveillance and areas of current research.
The ACS designates this education activity for a maximum of one category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Award.
This activity is approved for 1 AAFP Prescribed credit. Credit may be claimed for 1 year from the date of this issue. The physician should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spent on the educational activity. This quiz must be submitted online by May 1, 2007.
