OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Staging of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, the learner should be able to:
Understand the importance, as well as the limitations, of using the TNM system to stage non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Describe the TNM staging system for non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, and understand the rationale behind the various staging categories.
Discuss the importance of supplementing the TNM staging system with prognostic classifications, such as the International Prognostic Index, that are based on nonanatomic parameters.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) designates this educational activity for a maximum of one-half category 0.5 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
This activity is approved for 0.5 AAFP Prescribed credit. Credit may be claimed for 1 year from the date of this issue. The physician should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spent on the educational activity. This quiz must be submitted online by November 1, 2006.
