OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Advances in Prostate Cancer Chemotherapy: A New Era Begins, the learner should be able to:

•  Understand what is currently known about the molecular mechanisms of androgen independence.

•  Describe the roles of cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals in the treatment of androgen independent prostate cancer.

•  Identify investigational approaches to treatment of androgen independent prostate cancer.

The ACS designates this educational activity for a maximum of one category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
