OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Advances in Prostate Cancer Chemotherapy: A New Era Begins, the learner should be able to:
Understand what is currently known about the molecular mechanisms of androgen independence.
Describe the roles of cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals in the treatment of androgen independent prostate cancer.
Identify investigational approaches to treatment of androgen independent prostate cancer.
The ACS designates this educational activity for a maximum of one category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
