OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Molecular Epidemiology of Cancer, the learner should be able to:
Understand what molecular epidemiology is and how it expands on "traditional" epidemiology.
Describe the different classes of biomarkers used in molecular epidemiology.
Discuss how these markers are being used to provide new insights into the etiology, classification, and treatment of cancer.
The ACS designates this educational activity for a maximum of one-half category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
