•  Describe the criteria used to define a cancer cluster and understand the differences in perceptions of clusters between public health workers and the general public.

•  Identify the steps involved in investigating a cancer cluster.

•  Understand the complexities of investigating cancer clusters in a community setting.

•  Discuss the potential role physicians can play in educating people about the limitations of cancer cluster investigations.
