OBJECTIVES After reading the article, What Is New in Lymphoma?, the learner should be able to:
Discuss the treatment strategies now under study for follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), including monoclonal antibodies, antisense oligonucleotides, and vaccines.
Identify the current treatment standard for aggressive NHL, as well as other drugs now being studied for use.
Describe the current and potential future treatment strategies for Hodgkin lymphoma.
Understand how differences in response criteria can affect response rates, and how newer imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography scans may help make response criteria more uniform.
The American Cancer Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of one-half category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he or she actually spent in the activity.
