OBJECTIVES After reading the article, HPV Communication: Review of Existing Research and Recommendations for Patient Education, the learner should be able to:
Understand the need for mass public education accompanying the incorporation of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing into screening protocols.
Identify and respond to the common information gaps and psychosocial concerns surrounding HPV DNA testing.
Use the available data to tailor HPV information to a particular patient's background, allowing for shared decision making.
