OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Soft Tissue Sarcomas, the learner should be able to:
• Understand the epidemiology of soft tissue sarcoma.
• Describe the typical presentation, clinical workup, and staging of the disease.
• Discuss the various treatment options for soft tissue sarcoma based on tumor stage and anatomic location.
• Understand posttreatment surveillance strategies, which are based on the likelihood of disease recurrence.
