OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Keratinocyte Carcinoma, the learner should be able to:
Describe the epidemiology of and risk factors for basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the skin.
Understand the clinical approach to these cancers and their precursor lesions, including the indications for and techniques used in biopsy.
Discuss effective prevention and early detection methods for BCC and SCC.
Understand the current options available for treatment of these lesions.
