OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Nutrition and Physical Activity During and After Cancer Treatment: A Guide for Informed Choices, the learner should be able to:

•  Recognize the special nutritional needs of cancer survivors during treatment.

•  Advise cancer survivors about nutrition and physical activity during recovery and beyond, based on the best available current evidence.

•  Discuss dietary and physical activity strategies that might affect cancer recurrences.

•  Respond to questions from cancer survivors and families about nutritional supplements, herbal remedies, special dietary regimens, etc.

•  The American Cancer Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of one category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he or she actually spent in the activity.
