OBJECTIVES After reading the article, Nutrition and Physical Activity During and After Cancer Treatment: A Guide for Informed Choices, the learner should be able to:
Recognize the special nutritional needs of cancer survivors during treatment.
Advise cancer survivors about nutrition and physical activity during recovery and beyond, based on the best available current evidence.
Discuss dietary and physical activity strategies that might affect cancer recurrences.
Respond to questions from cancer survivors and families about nutritional supplements, herbal remedies, special dietary regimens, etc.
The American Cancer Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of one category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he or she actually spent in the activity.
